Wait, is this a threat? »
I take it back
I often complain about how little there is in the Bay Area that's open 24 hours. But I admit that I take for granted how good most Bay Area store hours are, and how I don't even think about things not being open on the weekends. Today, for example, I set out from my mom's Southern Virginia home at 3:45pm to buy 3 items:
  • A sketch book
  • Gourmet chocolates
  • Booze, of any kind
I can think of at least 5 stores for each of these items that would be open in the Bay Area right now. But here in Roanoke on a Sunday? All three likely vendors of such items were closed. What is this, Spain? It's like they want to spend time with their families or something, instead of toiling in retail. How unacceptable.
